March shoot

Hi again

Well yesterday was another good turnout, with 24 shooters.

After some initial confusion over who were going to be our leaders (due to the conspicuous absence of some members), Adam took the first group out, the 2nd group kind of took themselves and Michelle and I took the stragglers! (Fortunately there were plenty of experienced and responsible shooters in the 2nd group so that was not a problem).

From my perspective, being with the last group was pretty cruisy. There were only 6 of us and we decided (at Michelle's brilliant suggestion) to shoot each target twice. Saved our legs and walking around in the heat too long!

Although only a small group, we had plenty of fun and some pretty good shots were had. Brad got a beauty on one of the deer, which I won't elaborate on for fear of incriminating him (;) and Maddie did a terrific shot in the gulley where her arrow bounced off something & went vertical! I also got one of my trick shots in where it bounced off the ground into the target - lucky me!

Somehow we all finished a lot earlier than usual, which was kind of nice to be able to come back and have a leisurely BBQ and not have everyone hurrying off. Its an enjoyable part of the day to come back and have a sit down and a good catch up.

Counting up the scores it turned out that Llyle had the top points for the day on 150, with Clinton not far behind on 140. As you will see from the photo, I've written up this week's scores next to last shoots for comparison.

I've also put a few more photos up but these were only taken on my phone so please excuse the quality. (ohhhh.....mmmmyyyy......Gooooddddd.......adsl1.....i....s......S..0...0...0...S...L...O...W....). BTW, did anyone spot the celebrity??

Regarding our next shoot, it has been decided that it will be held the Sunday after Easter, which will make it the 27th April.

On another subject, there will be a weekend shoot out at Casino over the June long weekend which they call the "State of Origin". Its at the same place as the shoot that was on last weekend that I told you about. (Sorry about the late notice for that but I only found out on Sunday night). Have a think about it but I thought it might be good for a bunch of us to head out for the weekend. Free camping, hot showers and loos and over a hundred other shooters!

Anyway, I'm off to take the dog for a walk before it rains. (Speaking of dogs, how cute is Adam's new big-footed puppy Doug??!)
